On August 1 Sapporo Symphony Orchestra performed its first concert in five months at the main concert hall in Sapporo Concert Hall Kitara. As a prevention measure against novel coronavirus spreading, they performed with fewer performers and audience members than usual. About five hundred audience members enjoyed listening to a live orchestra performance after the long period of closure.

Beer gardens are now open in commercial facilities and other places in downtown Sapporo. However, some major locations, such as the Sapporo Odori Beer Garden, are closed due to the novel coronavirus. Each venue has come up with ways for infection control, such as the introduction of a self-service drink system.
The first ever treetop trekking facility in eastern Hokkaido opened. Visitors can enjoy walking through the courses set in tree-tops near the “Roadside Rest Area, Engaru Mori no Okhotsk” in Engaru Town.

Obihiro Shrine presented a “Hana Chozu,” which is a new practice of placing flowers in the shrine water basin used to purify the hands and the mind before praying there. Visitors could be heard commenting, “It's so beautiful,” and, “This is pretty.”

On June 25, eight landmarks in Sapporo including the famous Former Hokkaido Government Office Building known as "Akarenga" or the Red Brick Office Building were illuminated in blue to honour medical workers fighting the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. This event was planned by the Hokkaido Government and Sapporo City Government to mark the one-month anniversary of the lifting of the state of emergency.
