Potapota Ichigo Main Branch

An increasingly popular shop specializing in cute looking strawberry daifuku.

The white colored daifuku are filled with koshian (smooth red bean paste), the pink daifuku are filled with shiroan (white bean paste), and the green yomogi daifuku are filled with tsubuan (chunky red bean paste). These three products are the flagship lineup, and koshian mochi are the most popular. In addition, there are up to nine product selections just for daifuku alone, and the showcase is dazzlingly colorful.

Freshness is one of the most important factors for strawberries, so the shop receives daily deliveries of seasonally fresh strawberry varieties such as the “Tochiotome” variety from Tomakomai area contracted farmers. The mochi rice for the outer rice-cake layer and adzuki beans for the bean paste filling are also Hokkaido-grown.

According to the shop manager, they surprisingly get more male customers than female customers.
