The aroma of grilled sweetcorn drifts around Sapporo’s Odori Park as stalls open for business

Sweetcorn stalls in Odori Park (Chuo-ku), a tradition that heralds the arrival of spring in Sapporo, opened for business this season on April 23. The aroma of grilled sweetcorn filled the air around the stalls, and passersby were quick to make purchases.
One stall was set up permanently on West 3 block (9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.) while another was established on the West 4 block (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., closed on rainy days). The grilled and boiled corn is priced at 300 yen per cob, with a set of two half-size cobs (400 yen) also available. The stalls will open until October 16.
