Two varieties of JALUX’s new brand ‘Tokachikara’ confectionery for sale at Obihiro Airport

JALUX, a trading company of the Japan Airlines Group, has launched its own product brand ‘Tokachikara,’ in cooperation with companies in the Tokachi region. As part of the first phase, two types of confectionery made with Tokachi ingredients have been developed.
The ‘Tokachi Tiramisu Cake’ (1,998 yen) uses mascarpone cheese from Tokachino Fromages (Nakasatsunai village), and the ‘Tokachi Daifuku 3-variety Assortment’ (950 yen) – a set of three kinds of rice cakes stuffed with sweet fillings – uses cheese, adzuki beans and butter produced in Tokachi. The products are available at New Chitose Airport, Tokachi Obihiro Airport, and via JAL’s official mail-order website.
“We are particular about the Tokachi ingredients. We hope that the products will encourage people to visit Tokachi,” said the manager of the JALUX department, which hopes to increase the number of brand products in future.
In addition, a ‘Food Valley Tokachi’ section has been set up in the departure lounge of Tokachi Obihiro Airport, offering 42 kinds of processed foods made from Tokachi ingredients.
