Marchen no Oka-Fairy Tale Hill Turns Golden

“Marchen no Oka” (Fairy Tale Hill) is a tourist attraction located along the national road of Memanbetsu, Ozora Town, in eastern Hokkaido. It has been turned golden by autumn wheat, drawing a beautiful contrast with the dark green foliage and deep blue sky.
According to the Memanbetsu Agriculture Cooperation, the wheat is known as Kitahonami. “It is growing very well and we are expecting a good harvest,” a representative said.
At the parking lot, tourists are occasionally seen admiring the view. The autumn wheat will be harvested by early August.
