【Series】Spirits of the Kamuy landscape (11) --- Pine grosbeak pecks single-mindedly at berries ---

Pine grosbeaks completely focused on eating, unafraid of people approaching

A late December covered in wet snow. Getting out of my car in the parking lot of a large supermarket, I heard the cute chirping of wild birds.
Pine grosbeak birds with red coloring on their heads, backs, and chests eat berries growing on roadside Japanese rowan trees in flocks. The shoppers were not aware of being visited by such rare birds, and the birds were not concerned with the comings and goings of the people either. They were single-mindedly pecking at the red berries on the trees.
