Consadole Sapporo to run PR hub in Bangkok until end of November

On August 14, Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo and sports goods manufacturer Mizuno opened a showroom called “Studio Consa in Bangkok” in the capital of Thailand, to serve as a team promotion hub there. For the opening event, Consadole midfielder and Thai national Chanathip joined online from Sapporo to the jubilation of fans.
This is the first time for Consadole to launch this kind of information broadcasting hub abroad. With the goal of increasing team recognition across Asia, the plan is to operate until the end of November as a place for fans to learn more about the team.
The showroom is run by a local Thai branch of a partner company. Team items including red and black uniforms and photographs of Chanathip are on display. The online opening event showed footage of Consadole Sapporo winning the FC Tokyo match for that very same day. Chanathip did not play in that match, but he did answer Thai fan questions after the match in an online virtual Q&A session, and invited them to see a match, saying, “I am going to contribute to the team and definitely raise our ranking. After the COVID-19 pandemic is over, come see us play in Sapporo.”
After COVID-19 situation subsides in Bangkok, the plan is to invite fans to the showroom as well as hold occasional events such as public viewings for matches in the building that houses the showroom.
