Green Illumination to Promote New Lifestyle
On June 26, the Sapporo City Government started promoting the “New Hokkaido Lifestyle”, a campaign that seeks to lower the risk of novel coronavirus spreading. As part of the promotion campaign, they lit up important landmarks including the Sapporo Clock Tower and Sapporo TV Tower.
According to a Sapporo City official, the campaign hopes to make the city feel safe and secure, and they chose the colour green to illuminate Sapporo’s iconic landmarks as a colour that brings to mind the concept of safety.
Six landmarks including the Sapporo Clock Tower and Sapporo TV Tower will be illuminated until July 31.
