Enjoy campfire and tree sap coffee. A Shiraoi campsite

Campfire and tree sap coffee provided at the event

The wood charcoal production and sales company Onishi Forestry, located in the Pacific Ocean adjacent town of Shiraoi in Central Hokkaido, is holding a “Takibi Cafe” in its “Bubetsu Forest Camping Field” on Saturdays and Sundays from March 6 to 21. Customers can enjoy a campfire while sipping coffee made with tree sap.

This temporary cafe was newly organized for visitors to enjoy maple sap harvested from the camping area together with a campfire.

The cafe space is open from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays and 3:00 p.m. on Sundays. Seating and the campfire are free. In addition to a set combining coffee made with tree sap and marshmallows (500 yen), the menu also includes other items like tea made with tree sap and whiskey. This reporter observed visitors enjoying marshmallows and wieners cooked in an open flame.
