Grand opening of ‘Mt. USU Terrace’ at the Lake Toya Observation Deck

Wakasa Resort Co., Ltd., which operates the Usuzan Ropeway in the town of Sobetsu in central Hokkaido, held a grand opening on April 24, for ‘Mt. USU Terrace’ at the summit’s Lake Toya Observation Deck.
‘Mt. USU Terrace’ opened in spring of last year. As the installation of sofas on the terrace, which affords views of Lake Toya, the Showa Shinzan lava dome and the like, proved popular among visitors, work to extend the terrace began last November. The new deck, which covers 670 m2, is approximately 1.4 times larger than the previous deck, and seating for 12 has now been increased to a maximum of 56. The adjacent café enables visitors to spend time in an open and relaxing environment.
The ropeway operates from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
