Long run of nightly fireworks at Toyako Onsen hot spring district, 5 minutes of dazzling light with 250 winter fireworks
The “Toyako Onsen Winter Fireworks Festival” has started. It is lighting up the sky at the Toyako Onsen hot spring district (central Hokkaido). For five minutes from 8:30 every evening, tourists are treated to fireworks and music.
The Toyako Onsen Tourist Association will launch fireworks from December 1 to February 14 of next year. In normal years these fireworks would usually be launched in conjunction with the Toyako Onsen Winter Festival, but the Winter Festival was cancelled this year due to impact from the novel coronavirus. In place of fireworks at the festival, the fireworks are taking place nightly for a long run.
250 fireworks will be launched in time with music. The fireworks will be cancelled in bad weather.
