Monbetsu-Haneda commemorative flight
On July 1, a commemorative flight was made to celebrate the 20th anniversary of ANA’s Haneda-Monbetsu flight service operating in and out of Okhotsk Monbetsu Airport.
Shortly after noon, the ANA airliner decorated with a floral-design flew in from Haneda and landed at Monbetsu Airport. The aircraft was welcomed with a water arch sprayed by two fire engines on the runway apron.
Inside the airport, airline staff distributed commemorative items such as drink mugs to passengers, while the aircraft’s captain and crew were presented with floral bouquets by participants including the Mombetsu City Mayor.
Direct flights between Haneda and Monbetsu commenced on July 1, 2000, and the service has to date carried a total of approximately 1.12 million passengers.
