October heralds first New Chitose-Naha LCC service

On August 31, low-cost carrier (LCC) Peach Aviation (Osaka Prefecture) announced a New Chitose-Naha flight with an October 25 launch date.
This new flight service from Peach Aviation is their first new service launch into and out of New Chitose Airport in three years since 2017. And it is the first ever LCC service between New Chitose and Naha.
The service will offer one flight to and from New Chitose per service-day, with a New Chitose departure time of 11:10 am (arriving in Naha at 3:10 pm) and a Naha departure time of 2:20 pm (arriving in New Chitose at 5:25 pm). The plane will be an Airbus A320 (180 seats). Reservations are already being taken at 7,990 yen to 51,990 yen per one-way ticket. All Nippon Airways (ANA) also operates a New Chitose-Naha flight, but that service is currently suspended.
Peach Aviation’s Hokkaido service currently includes seven flight options, with service between New Chitose and Kansai, Narita, Sendai, Fukuoka, and Taipei in Taiwan (currently suspended) and service between Kushiro and Kansai and Narita. With the upcoming new service launch, this will increase to eight flight options. Peach Aviation launched a new flight service between Kushiro and Narita as recently as August 1. The company says it is focusing on enhancing its domestic flight service using international airplanes and crew currently grounded due to cancellations resulting from the novel coronavirus pandemic.
