Odori Park Fountains Restarted Two Months Late
On June 19, Sapporo City turned on fountains in Odori Park in Chuo ward. This is because the Hokkaido government relaxed its previous “cautionary measures” including recommended limits on travel between cities as steps to prevent spreading of the novel coronavirus.
At the 3-chome block of Odori Park, city residents sitting on benches were fascinated by the fountain there when it started splashing at 9:00 a.m.
The City originally planned to restart the fountain in late April but postponed that plan as part of their efforts to prevent spread of the virus.
